The Andian Collection hails from Brooklyn, New York but splits it's artisan workshops between New York City and the Andean regions of South America. The collection combines bright colors, soft hues and natural rustic materials. The Andean Collection partners with artisans from the rural impoverished communities in South Africa to help provide change and participate in a global market.
The Andean jewelery is carved from natural seeds such as the Acai which grows out the swamps found in the lush rainforests of South America. The Acai leaves are used to make handicrafts like hats and baskets. Another natural material used in the Andean Collection is the Tagua nut, the nut grows from the Ecuadorian Ivy palm and is referred to as "vegetable ivy". The seeds are removed from the nut and are left to dry out in the sun for about 3-5 months before being carved into jewelery.
Great way to add a little pop of Spring color to your wardrobe! There are many more pieces available-- so come in soon and check them out!
